实验步骤: To a stirred mixture of 10 parts of methyl 2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]benzoate and 100 parts of acetic acid is added dropwise a solution of 4.5 parts of potassium cyanate in 25 parts of water. Upon completion, stirring at room temperature is continued overnight. The reaction mixture is evaporated. The solid residue is stirred with water. The product is filtered off, washed with water and ethanol, and dried, yielding 5 parts (48%) of 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2,4(1H,3H)-quinazolinedione; mp. 273.6° C.
