The aqueous layers were combined, acidified to pH 2, and extracted three times with 50 ml Et2O. The organic layers were combined, dried over MgSO4, filtered and evaporated to afford a milky, pale yellow oil. Distillation yielded 4.80 g of a clear viscous oil, bp 132-5° C.
