实验步骤: The recrystallized N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bromide (55.86 grams, 0.30 moles) was placed in a 100 ml flask fitted with a magnetic stirrer and a pressure equalizing addition funnel. The product was separated from the aqueous layer by decantation and the residual water removed by warming to 50° C. at aspirator pressure for fifteen minutes. The yield of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium tribromide was 103.16 grams.
