The solution was concentrated, ether (40 mL) was added, and the resultant mixture was washed with Na2CO3 solution (2×25 mL) and water (1×25 mL). The organic phase was dried (MgSO4) and evaporated, yielding 2.94 g (84%) of the sub-title compound a clear colourless liquid. Purity 97%.
