The reaction was carefully quenched with water and the product was extracted with EtOAc, dried (Na2SO4), and purified by silica gel chromatography to give 735 mg of (4-bromo-2-methansulfonyl-phenyl)-methanol. Cyclohexane-1,3-dione (320 mg, 2.85 mmol), 4-bromo-2-(methylsulfonyl)benz-aldehyde (500 mg, 1.90 mmol) and 1-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)urea (388 mg, 1.90 mmol) are added, and the mixture is heated at reflux over night and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is purified by reversed phase HPLC (Agilent ZORBAX™+SB-C18, gradient of acetonitrile in water, 0.15% formic acid). Yield: 80 mg; ESI mass spectrum [(79Br)-M+H]+=543, [(81Br)-M+H]+=545, Retention time HPLC: 1.06 min (Z017_S04). the mixture is heated at reflux over night concentrated under reduced pressure The residue is purified by reversed phase HPLC (Agilent ZORBAX™+SB-C18, gradient of acetonitrile in water, 0.15% formic acid) 1.06 min (Z017_S04)
